About Critter Companion Sitters
|
I started pet sitting about 12 years ago, as a high school student. Then I went on to pet sit for a company
during my college years on the side. However, due to my loving nature towards animals and the constant
need for my services; I decided to privately pet sit. This move set the foundation for my own pet sitting
business. During college I would pet sit part-time for fun since I had a full-time job. Animals are and always
have been my passion. My passion would only be natural for me to work as a pet sitter. What turned out to
be a part-time job and hobby ended up growing into what I wanted for a full-time job. Many people saw my
passion and eagerness to educate others on animal ownership, responsibilities of owning a pet, and
educating the public on animal cruelty and prevention. I obtained a degree in RTVF (Radio, Television and
Film) at The University of North Texas. I decided on this degree because I wanted to work for Animal Planet
and do documentary film work that fed my passion for animals and issues involving them today. After
reflection, prayer and many questions I had about how to showcase my passion; I decided to stick with pet
sitting and source the rest.
After deciding to extend my pet sitting business as a full-time venture and my primary source of income, I
chose to start fueling some of my other interests on the side that would advocate animal welfare. Not only
do I pet sit but I also promote animal welfare, volunteer for very organizations and I have started free animal
education courses on responsible pet ownership.
I am currently putting together a free education course for new pet owners. I am always updating and
improving this information as I get more and more resources to add to the course. This course will
hopefully help owners on caring for their animals, responsibilities that go with owning an animal, financial
expectations, affordable ways to keep pets healthy and happy, insurance plans for pets, and budgeting for a
new pet. Many times people get an animal without planning or preparing for a new animal to come into the
home. I would like to help people be successful on caring for their pet and to help end animals being turned
over to shelters and rescue organizations. If more people were provided information on responsible
ownership, we might be able to lessen homeless animals.
I have two Cocker Spaniels named Humphrey and Bogart. They are my babies and my life I have recently
added a new addition to our home named Arthur, a teddy bear hamster I adopted from a friend. My fiancée
is also an animal lover and committed to helping in this business from time to time. We usually have
animals in and out of the house for play dates. We would not know what to do with ourselves if we did not
have animals in the home and in our lives on a daily basis.
My passion to educate people on the responsibilities of owning an animal as well as caring for one is
something I am personally invested. Animals are not just things or possessions to me, they are part of the
family and I treat every single animal that I come into contact with as a member of my family. I offer many
services such as Dog Walking, Pet Sitting, Overnight Visits on a case by case basis, Yard Cleanup and Pet
Finder services. My business is small and because I choose to be a part of every visit and every client, I only
do over-night pet sitting on a case by case basis. I am a member of Pet Sitters International, Insured and
Bonded, and I am a proud supporter of the ASPCA, DFWCSR and various other charities . I have over 12
years experience in this industry and I have 20 years experience with animals including exotic animals. I
helped raise abused and unwanted exotic animals that would end up spending the remainder of their lives at
the Wild Animal Orphanage in Helotes, Texas outside of San Antonio, Texas. My business is growing and
because of this our services will continue to expand to meet the needs of our clients. I have a wonderful
family and would love to consider you a part of it.
Critter Companion Sitters are committed to providing the best TLC alternative for your pet and to provide
constant love and attention. This is a commitment we hold true and will not compromise this stand for
anything.
